Compression Therapy with Normatec
Active Living Chiropractic is happy to announce a new service we are offering at our Hillsboro and Beaverton locations - Normatec Compression Therapy! This system uses compressed air to massage limbs, mobilize fluid, and help you recover faster between workouts by reducing muscle soreness and increasing circulation.
The Normatec PULSE recovery system uses pulsing technology, which mimics the muscle pump of your legs and arms and greatly enhances the movement of fluid and metabolites out of your limbs after an intense workout. Similar to how our veins and lymphatic vessels have one way valves that prevent backflow, the Normatec uses hold pressures to prevent fluids from being forced in the wrong direction further optimizing your recovery. The removal of waste through improved circulation will reduce muscle and joint soreness.
Currently we are able to offer Normatec recovery to your feet, ankle, calves, and thighs.
The session begins by compressing your feet, lower legs or upper quads and gradually working its way up your leg. Similar to the kneading and stroking done during a massage, each segment of the attachment will first compress in a pulsing pattern and then release. This will repeat for each segment of the attachment as the compression pattern works its way up your limb.
Treatments are 20 - 30 minutes, and all you have to do is lie back and relax! This system has been utilized by some of the world’s top athletes including world champion Ironman Miranda Carfrae, and professional teams such as the Boston Red Sox.
